Rooted in Iowa,
Committed to Justice
Sandra earned her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1998, following her undergraduate studies in Political Science at the University of Washington. Since returning to Iowa, she has built a long-standing career as an attorney and lobbyist—representing Iowans in complex immigration petitions. As a fluent Spanish speaker, she bridges communication gaps and ensures equitable access to justice for bilingual and immigrant clients.
Sandra has proudly served the legal community for over two decades and continues to be a fierce advocate for clients facing difficult legal challenges.
Personal Insight, Professional Strength
Sandra’s legal philosophy is grounded in compassion, communication, and clarity. She understands that legal matters—especially involving family or immigration—can be emotionally overwhelming. Her own life experiences allow her to connect with clients on a personal level, and she is known for explaining legal procedures in plain language, setting expectations, and helping clients feel heard and supported every step of the way.
Clients turn to Sandra because they know she will fight for their rights, work collaboratively to reach efficient resolutions, and always keep their best interests front and center.

the Courtroom
Sandra’s commitment to community runs deep. She is an active volunteer and leader in several local organizations, including:
- Board Member, Iowa Homeless Youth Centers
- Supporter, St. Florian Burn Foundation
- Advocate, Local Arts Initiatives in Des Moines
Through this work, she helps uplift vulnerable populations and contributes meaningfully to the well-being of the broader Iowa community.
